So here we are, the dawning of a new era is upon us. The powers that be have started to edge us close to a legal Brexit that takes us out the EU and with our new buddies in a New America. Woo woo, excited? Fearful? Well we should be both! Well, if you have … Continue reading Up the effluent stream without a means of propulsion.
Perspective
Heard quite a few different perspectives on Christmas in the last month, so I thought I'd share a few I'd noticed with us all: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=suowe2czxcA https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=In8ZkPaZJFE https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-6MXZ0V7deU&list=PL5o2Uu3rC4m5ONKvTeJSDlCA8b_JomJ8k&index=1
Christmas time, Mistletoe and a whine
Merry Christmas, let it be a good one or something. Yes it is that wonderful time of year when songs are repeated, food portions are halved and everyone digs deep into the coffers to buy the latest fad. Greenday - Dookie, is currently in the car just incase I need a little Christmas saving from … Continue reading Christmas time, Mistletoe and a whine
I want to love Church, I really do.
I really want to love Church. The idea of being vulnerable, open and exposed in an environment that is both loving and supportive without ridicule does sound great. Where everyone there is being inclusive and welcoming without the cliques (clicks) that can be found elsewhere in society. And this from current day Bethlehem:
As if to sum it all up, a friend posted her advent…

Back to the Flora…
So the Flora has had a makeover, and there were general murmurs of approval from folks this week. We're now going to meet here on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of the month. Talking of makeovers, I've (Paul) given the website and Twitter pages a slight makeover to make them marginally more accessible for people … Continue reading Back to the Flora…
The place where we are right
St Lukes in London have a podcast, normally featuring Dave Tomlinson who wrote 'The Post Evangelical'. This is one of many great episodes which struck a chord: http://www.saintlukeschurch.org.uk/talks/?sermon_id=244
Calan Gaeaf (First day of Winter) and ALL SAINTS
Being an accurate rememberence of our All Age All Saints Evening celebration... Who wants a cuppa?... so, this is traditionally the first day of Winter… what are the signs of it beginning? Children Reply, "It's freezing... it's darker...it's misty." Some say this was also the, “Celtic New Year” … new year beginning in the … Continue reading Calan Gaeaf (First day of Winter) and ALL SAINTS
Summer Solstice 2015
For those that might wish to have a recap... this was the rough gist of our small ritual around sunset on solstice day... We greet one another with the old priestly blessing: The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn … Continue reading Summer Solstice 2015
